Connect with a PJ Library Parent Connector in Your Community!

PJ Library Parent Connectors create meaningful gatherings for families with young children and serve as guides in connecting families with Jewish resources or organizations in their neighborhoods. Connectors throughout New York are planning stroller walks, baby and caregiver playgroups, parents’ nights out, holiday celebrations, and playground meetups. In addition to reading your PJ Library books at home with your family, we hope that you will join your local PJ Library Parent Connector for a gathering soon!

If your community is not listed and you would like to organize a gathering in your neighborhood with our support, please contact Liz Mueller (she/her), Lead Parent Connector, PJ Library in New York. We're also hiring Parent Connectors throughout New York City, Westchester, and Long Island!

We are grateful to UJA-Federation of New York for their support of the PJ Library Parent Connector program.

My name is Elena and I am a PJ Library Parent Connector for Russian-speaking Jewish families in Eastern Queens. My husband and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and we have two beautiful girls. We love movies and fun family activities. I am originally from Russia and have been following my husband from state to state for his job until we came to New York four years ago. I love my neighborhood and the people I met here. I try to be involved in my kids' school and you can often see me at Forest Park talking to other parents.
Connecting with other Russian-speaking Jewish Families created many meaningful relationships. Celebrating holidays together, enriching our lives in many ways, helping each other out--these are just a few reasons why it is so important for me to be a PJ Library parent connector. I am looking forward to meeting you and your families here in Eastern Queens.

Jennifer (she/her) lives in Mamaroneck with her husband and baby daughter. In addition to being a PJ Library Parent Connector, she works as a quantitative portfolio manager. Jennifer has always been active in her local Jewish community and is excited to build a community of families with young children as the first Soundshore-area Parent Connector. She and her husband moved from NYC and had their first child during the pandemic. Like so many families, this meant a delayed start to meeting other new parents in their neighborhood. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys relaxing with a good book, attempting to solve the NYT crossword puzzle, and drinking a good cup of coffee while walking around her neighborhood.

My name is Lena, my husband's name is Max, and our daughter Gina is turning 6 on New Year's Eve! I'm originally from Ukraine, but as a family, we've always lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (and in the Poconos of Pennsylvania for the past two summers). We live on the waterfront, where we like to have picnics and playdates, and enjoy the majestic views of the Manhattan skyline. So far, we've been focusing on local events where kids are entertained -- we've had Russian-language puppet shows and singalongs -- but we're also beginning to explore "Mamas' Nights Out" and "Papas' Nights Out" events as a way for more parents to get to know each other and do fun workshops around mindfulness, culture, and volunteering. Feel free to reach out if you want to suggest or join an event, or just to say hi!
