About the Event

Exasperated parents & adventurous bibliophiles are invited to a beautiful gallery space in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn for an evening in conversation with acclaimed writer, editor, translator and Columbia Journalism School guru Keith Gessen. You may know Keith (Kostya) as a Moscow-born New Yorker writer, author of "A Terrible Country" and "All the Sad Young Literary Men," and as a founding editor of n+1 magazine. "Raising Raffi: The First Five Years" is Keith's latest book (released last year), a brutally honest memoir that will resonate with parents who made it through NYC with young kids during the height of the pandemic, and especially with Russian-speaking papas and mamas. So call up a sitter (or better yet, babyshka) to put in a Thursday evening shift with the kiddo(s), and secure your access to Soapbox Gallery for a laid-back literary salon, and....you guessed it... good wine, cheese and superb schmoozing! Early Bird tickets limited!
